Example

A $35 item with $5 shipping: listing $0.20, transaction 40 × 6.5% = $2.60, processing 40 × 3% + $0.25 = $1.45. Total fees $4.25. If the item costs $12 and shipping $4.50, profit is 40 − 4.25 − 12 − 4.50 = $19.25.

Listing fee $0.20 per item listed (renewed after each sale of a multi-quantity listing). Transaction fee 6.5% of the item price plus shipping and gift wrapping. Payment processing in the US: 3% + $0.25. Offsite Ads: 15% on attributed orders, or 12% once a shop passes $10,000 in sales over 365 days. Listing in another currency than your payment account adds a 2.5% conversion fee.

FAQ

How much does Etsy take per sale?

In the US: 6.5% transaction fee and 3% + $0.25 payment processing on the order total, plus the $0.20 listing fee, and 12–15% more when the sale came from Offsite Ads (checked 2026-10-21).

Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?

Yes. The transaction fee applies to the item price plus what you charge for shipping and gift wrapping.

Can I turn off Offsite Ads?

Shops under $10,000 in sales over the past 365 days can opt out; above that, participation is required at the 12% rate.

Are payment processing fees the same in every country?

No. Etsy Payments rates differ by the country of your bank account; these are US rates.
